The Jackson family’s lot, which sits over an aquifer recharge zone, presented some challenges in terms of how best to use the space. The perfect plan fell into place when they decided to build up rather than out. With two athletic kids and frequent sleepovers, they chose stained concrete floors for functionality and simple maintenance. Living, dining and other common areas are downstairs, while the bedrooms upstairs provide views of the family-friendly neighborhood and its lush oak trees.
